Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is ResonanceKiller different from a conventional tuned mass damper?

A conventional tuned mass damper works in a narrow band around one frequency.

ResonanceKiller is a passive broadband mass damper, so it reduces vibration across a wider frequency range, and it needs no external energy or control.

  • What are wire rope isolators used for?

They support equipment on coiled stainless steel wire rope between metal bars, to protect it from vibration and shock.

They suit harsh environments, wide temperature ranges and shock loads from transport, impacts or explosions, from large machines to small electronics.

  • What information do you need to select the right solution?

For isolators, the mass of the equipment, the vibration frequency or speed (RPM), the shock level and the operating environment.

For ResonanceKiller, the resonance frequency and amplitude, an estimate of the vibrating mass, and the possible installation location.
